Two suicides in Lebanon on Friday, apparently correlated to the country’s flowing economic downturn. Usually, People commit suicide because they are not supported by society. If a person has no support in his country and no one to care about then they can feel valueless and this will lead to depression which may lead to suicide. Suicide rates are associated with how well a person is integrated into society and the degree to which society regulates individual behavior. In general, suicide has some connection with social rules or standards and the individual. Just imagine we're at a time where a man is forced to commit suicide because of helplessness and hunger caused by the economic crisis!
A 61-year-old man shot himself in the middle of Hamra Street in Beirut, in front of people, leaving a Lebanese flag, a note, and a copy of his clean criminal record there. This man, and another one in Sayda, Southern Lebanon, who is an unemployed van driver, killed themselves because of poverty and hunger happening in Lebanon. One of the witnesses who were found in Hamra said that “He did not commit suicide, he was killed in cold blood". From the moment these two being "killed" and protestors didn't leave streets. They denounced “a government that does not represent them and does not care about inflation, the high dollar exchange rate, and power outages.”
Keep in mind that suicide is the outcome of suffering, so instead of having those conversations about suicide being halal or haram. Try to understand why it happened and what can we do to help other people not commit suicide instead. May these two rest!
